Truly Singaporean Wine & Makan Series - CHIJMES

A RHONE VALLEY TREASURE: PIERRE AMADIEU

This highly regarded winery was founded in 1929 by the current owner’s grandfather, who made wines from his 7 hectares of vineyards in Gigondas. One of the first to print the name of the appellation on his bottles, he also obtained in 1932 a gold medal in the National Agricultural Concours of Paris.

This September look forward to two wine pairing sessions featuring the wines of the acclaimed Pierre Amadieu winery paired with Truly Singaporean makan, only at New Ubin.

Four Hands Collaboration with Jose Alonso, Tapas Club

An unprecedented, cross-cultural collaboration between SM Pang of Truly Singaporean ‘tze char’ cult favourite New Ubin & Jose Alonso from popular Spanish restaurant Tapas Club, to push the boundaries of what Singaporean & Spanish cuisine can achieve in tandem.

For two nights only, gourmands of all persuasions are invited to secure their seats to each four-hands, four-course dinner featuring 10 delectable dishes specially designed to bring out the best of both cuisine styles and cooking techniques that will satiate both sides of the camp.

This August, New Ubin’s ‘Truly Singaporean’ Wine & Makan series feature two regions in the USA – Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley. They are arguably California’s best known wine producing areas, famed for their creamy and zesty Chardonnay and impressive Cabernet Sauvignon–Bordeaux blends.

Look forward to two wine pairing sessions featuring a fascinating array of California’s finest paired with ‘Truly Singaporean’ makan that kicks the feast off with a Kiam Chye Duck shooter, and tugs diners from cuisine to cuisine henceforth – think fragrant Udang Masak Nanas Fresh Sea Prawns to the crackling of New Ubin’s Crispy Pork Knuckles and to New Ubin Nasi Lemak, a recipe and teaser of an upcoming project SM Pang himself has been tirelessly perfecting. This August, only at New Ubin.
