Marques of Casa Concha
In June of 1718, King Philip V of Spain bestowed the noble title of Marques de Casa Concha upon José de Santiago Concha y Salvatierra for his meritorious work as Governor of Chile and Knight of Calatrava.
One of his descendants was the winery’s founder, Don Melchor Concha y Toro, who became the seventh Marques de Casa Concha.
A new wine named in honor of that noble title was launched in 1976 and was quickly recognized for its extraordinary quality. The line began with a Cabernet Sauvignon from the 1972 vintage and gradually expanded to include other varieties. Today the line has a full portfolio that includes Classic ranges, Limited edition and upper tier, Etiqueta negra.
