ABOUT THE WINERIES

Château Grand-Puy Ducasse

http://www.grandpuyducasse.fr/en/introduction

Vineyard

40 ha split into three large parcels

The vineyard's 40 hectares (99 acres) are divided between three main plots which lie on sandy Garonne gravel within the Pauillac appellation.

The vines border those of Mouton, Lafite and Pontet-Canet to the North. In their central part, they cover part of the Bourdieu of Grand Puy, and, at their southern extremity, the Saint-Lambert plateau.

Chateau Sénéjac

Ch. Sénéjac is one of the better known Crus Bourgeois of the Haut-Médoc, located near to the vineyards of Margaux, just outside Parempuyre in the far south of the Haut-Médoc region.

Sénéjac is a historic estate of 150 hectares, of which only 38 are under vine, and even in the middle of the 19th century produced 100,000 bottles, not far short of its modern-day total.. It s reputation for making high quality wine blossomed in the 1980s and then in 1999 it entered a new era when it was bought by Lorraine Cordier, whose family also won the famous St Julien property, Chateau Talbot.

There are 28 hectares of vineyards and the wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (25%) and Cabernet Franc (15%). It is matured in oak barriques (25% new) for 18 months. Recently the estate has changed hands and is now owned by Monsieur Rutsman.

Second wine of Château Sénéjac, Petit Sénéjac belongs to the Bignon-Cordier family, also owner of Château Talbot.

Château Sénéjac is one of the historical figures of the Crus Bourgeois, already part of the classification in 1932.
The Sénéjac vineyard extends over a plateau overlooking the town of Pian.

Château de Fieuzal

Sitting on one of the finest, gently sloping gravel outcrops in the Pessac-Leognan appellation of Graves, Château de Fieuzal dates back as far as the first stirrings of winemaking in the region. The terroir allows them to produce wines that exemplify Bordeaux’s complex and delicate style of white wines. Their reds are equally stunning, striking a contrast between richness and freshness, capable of evolving remarkably over years.

Awarded the official status of Grand Cru Classé de Graves in 1959, the current owners of Fieuzal continue to preserve the best of its essential Graves character and Bordeaux tradition. Please come and meet talented winemaker, Stephen Carrier, and learn about his passionate pursuit of perfection with Fieuzal.

DOMAINE DU CHEVAL BLANC

Established in a natural environment

19th century building with its vat room and cellars around the stone well, the Domaine du Cheval Blanc is a real place of life, history and nature.

Located in a naturally wooded hilly landscape, the surroundings of the Domaine offer many possibilities for walks.

With grape varieties defined in the specifications of our Appellations d'Origine Contrôlée, expression of their terroirs:

Red grape varieties: Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc,

White grape varieties: Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, Sémillon, Muscadelle and Colombard.

The terroirs

The plateau is made up of a clay-siliceous topsoil with a clay-gravelly subsoil (like an extremely fine and reddish gravel pit).

On the northern part of the operation, the soils are clearly clay-limestone, it is friable stone rich in marine fossils.

In the south, the soils are clayey-gravelly.

And committed to an environmental approach
