Introduction to Starward Whisky
Starward Whisky is an Australian Whisky that made huge waves in the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits competition. Being a blind taste, judges are impartial and not influenced by labels. Starward Whisky won 12 “Double Gold” medals in 2023 and was awarded “World’s most awarded distillery of the Year” in 2022 at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2022/2023.
It is a New World Whisky that was established in 2004. Considering Starward’s short history of 2 decades or so, the abovementioned feat is all the more remarkable. Another interesting fact is that Starward used to do their distillation in an old Qantas Airlines hangar.

Starward whisky is distilled in Melbourne, Australia. Starward whisky is distinct in that red wine barrels are used for whisky maturation, which adds fruity, oaky, delicious and complex flavours to their whisky. Starward whisky was founded by Melburnian David Vitale.

Burbur cha cha- A creamy, sweet dessert containing yam, taro in coconut milk
Starward Two-Fold
Information: Starward Two-Fold is an approachable and versatile whisky. It is a double grain whisky made from Australian barley and wheat.
Aroma: Bright Red Cherries coated in buttery vanilla spice.
Palate: Smooth, rich caramel dessert balanced by tropical fruit.
Finish: Delicate and long. A delicious dry finish from a faded sweetness.
Starward Nova
Information: Starward Nova is Starward’s signature single malt whisky. This whisky is matured in Australian red wine barrels.
Aroma: Bright flavours of red berries and orchard fruit and coated in soft oak spice.
Palate: Rich berry pudding covered in vanilla, caramel and spice.
Finish: Balanced and long. The Sweetness fades and the delicious flavour lingers.
Starward Solera
Information: Starward Solera is Starward’s first product. It is produced using the traditional solera process.
Aroma: Bright tropical and orchard fruits, caramel and vanilla.
Palate: Toasty caramel and creme brulee, banana, figs and sweet spice.
Finish: Juicy and full with a lingering dry spice.
Starward Fortis
Information: Starward Fortis is a full bodied and full flavoured whisky. It is bottled at a higher ABV of 50% and it is non-chill filtered. It is matured in 100% American oak red wine barrels that are primarily sourced from Barossa Valley.
Aroma: Forward flavours of Madagascan vanilla pods, rich toasted American oak, blackberry jam, raisins, caramelised fig, raw sugar and over ripe plums.
Palate: Rich and full bodied, upfront vanillin, quince paste, Muscadelle raisins, chocolate ganache, cinnamon and baked banana bread.
Finish: Viscous and long. It captures the whole palate and balances well with a finish of baking spices from the oak, ripe figs and raisins.
Starward Ginger Beer Cask #7
Information: Starward’s Ginger Beer Cask#7 is an annual batch release from the award winning Port Melbourne distillery team. Now in it’s 17th release, it is a very versatile whisky.
Aroma: Ginger, orange and dark chocolate.
Palate: Strong spicy ginger, vanilla and fresh pineapple.
Finish: Big, warming mouthfeel with candied ginger,citrus and sweet Apera.
